Join us for a 7 mile walk from the historic 5 Points area of East Nashville, past LP Field, over the Cumberland River, past the State Capitol, through downtown, back across the Cumberland via the Shelby Avenue pedestrian bridge, once again past LP Field, then back to 5 Points. I SCREAM, YOU SCREAM, WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM! We can stop at either Diana's Sweet Shoppe or Mike's Ice Cream on Broadway and get ice cream cones to eat as we walk. All of this walking is sure to make us thirsty so we can stop for drinks and/or dinner at one of the local taverns afterward.
No map, compass, or water shoes necessary. Wear comfortable footwear and bring some water. See downtown Nashville up close, ring the State Capitol Liberty Bell (it's loud and fun!), then make fun of tourists and give them bad directions!
Meet at the northwest corner of Forrest Avenue and North 11th Street in East Nashville, zip code 37206. It will be the corner next to the East Nashville Public Library parking lot and across from the Red Door Saloon. If I am there early I will be on the deck at the Red Door Saloon. Look for a guy with a shaved head and a George Dickel straight.
