Come join the Nashville Hiking Meetup along with Team Green Adventures and Paddle Adventures + as we partner together for one of the most exciting whitewater experiences in the Eastern US!
The Chattooga River defines the northern border of Georgia and South Carolina and offers two days of the best whitewater you'll ever raft. This trip takes you down one of the few remaining wild & scenic rivers in the US. Flanked by a protective corridor of high canyon walls, the scenery is unspoiled and unrivaled with crystal clear water.

Saturday's float will get you warmed up for what's ahead with a series of easy class II & III rapids ending with the class IV rapid Bull Sluice. Day two gets the real action going right away with a technical traverse through class V Woodall Shoals followed by several thrilling class III & eight class IV+ rapids including Seven Foot Falls, Corkscrew, the narrow line of Jawbone, and finally hitting the big drop at Soc-em-Dog before we relax with a powered portage across Lake Tugaloo. Our rafting company will provide us with lunches on both days along with a fantastic dinner and breakfast on the banks of the river.

For those who want to make the most of the trip, we'll head out early on Friday and get in a hike at Tallulah Gorge.

The cost for this outing is $265 and includes the cost of the rafting trip (guides & gear), overnight tent camping on Friday and Saturday night, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. Also included are tents for Saturday night. If you don't have a tent, no worries... bunks are available on Friday night for only $6.
This is definitely one of the most beautiful and challenging whitewater rivers in the Eastern US and an experience not to be missed!
